Mystery Chronicle: One Way Heroics JRPG Heads Westward This Summer

Ready to ship out to the West this summer, developer Spike Chunsoft will launch the PS Vita and PS4 JRPG, Mystery Chronicle: One Way Heroics, through the PS Store with cross-buy support. This information comes directly from the PlayStation.blog.

According to the announcement on the blog, the devs detail quite a bit about the small pixel figures that gamers will be assuming in the very deadly screen pushing RPG. This is briefly explained in the opening of the post by Dave Kracker.

“I hope you’re ready for the long haul because in Mystery Chronicle: One Way Heroics, once you start, there’s no looking back!”

Summing up the story, the kingdom is succumbing to a destructive light that is consuming everything in its path. As always, a hero emerges and must find a way to save the day… which is you. Looking over to the actual game mechanics, Mystery Chronicle has players running from a constant changing world that becomes very different on each playthrough.

I don’t know how to feel about the constant wall having you to run from it even while doing simple things like checking your equipment, but it seems that it could be an interesting aspect if done right. In addition, the screen will keep pushing you to your death which is faced on the left-hand side.

I’d image that this would snuff a lot of greedy players trying to catch some loot near the death wall, but I could also see it being a bit annoying. However, if you die you will be able to keep your possessions by using the Dream Vault and earn points to get other classes, characters, items and more goods.

If this sounds like something worth watching, PlayStation posted up a short trailer showing in-game content.

Folks will be able to pick through 20 classes that include Danganronpa and Shiren the Wanderer character classes that features the Ultimate Student. NPC allies can also be recruited to help you on your adventure, as well as a PvP mode to challenge your friends.

Those looking to get Mystery Chronicle: One Way Heroics, it will be available this summer for PS4 and PS Vita, and through the PlayStation Store with cross-buy support.
