The Witcher 3: Blood And Wine DLC Trailer Reveals May 31st Launch Date

CD Projekt Red revealed a nice teaser trailer for the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s second DLC Blood and Wine. Accompanying that video is also a 20 minute long gameplay video that stands as a spoiler, but offers a nice glimpse of Toussaint. Blood and Wine is set to come out on May 31st, across PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

As noted before by the devs, the upcoming DLC for the game won’t be like the free updates like last year, but will sport a price tag to play. The expansion will cost $19.99, or can be purchased with the previously published Hearts of Stone DLC as part of the Expansion Pass that’s $24.99.

Jumping to the next part, the DLC now has an official trailer showing a brief opening segment of Geralt of Rivia traveling along with a few good knights to the land of Toussaint. This can be seen below, which was posted on the Witcher‘s official YouTube channel.

By now many should know that Blood and Wine will be Geralt’s last run. This was announced by game director Konrad Tomasziewics in a press release, and was further confirmed in the video’s description.

“For the last time become professional monster slayer Geralt of Rivia and explore Toussaint, a remote land untouched by war, where you will unravel the horrifying secret behind a beast terrorizing the kingdom. Blood and Wine is a 30+ hour adventure full of dark deeds, unexpected twists, romance and deceit.”

We also learn a bit more about the game and how many quest options will be available for players to partake in. As of now, there are said to be around 90 quests, and a “massive amount of features” for folks to explore, as mentioned below.

“Containing more than 90 new quests, and over thirty hours of brand new adventures, it’s something that I think gamers will remember for a long time. There’s also a massive amount of features we’re giving gamers with this expansion like a dynamic Point of Interest system, a new Gwent deck, new endgame mutation mechanics, and even a place Geralt can call home…. And it’s all happening in a new region as big as No Man’s Land in the base game.”

With that said, if you can’t contain yourself and want a nice peek at the first 20 minutes of Geralt’s adventure in Toussaint, you can view the video that TVGRYpl posted (although it isn’t in English). If you don’t want any spoilers revealed it’s best to skip the video altogether.

Again, the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Blood and Wine will be the second expansion for the adventure RPG, and will cost $19.99, or $24.99 for the Hearts of Stone Expansion Pass. The DLC will drop on May 31st for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
