Eliosi’s Hunt Demo Gives Gamers A Taste Of Hardcore Shooting And Platforming

Due out on August 23rd for the Xbox One and PS4, later in the year for PC, TDZ Games’ Eliosi’s Hunt is an isometric platformer and shooting game that is being billed as Crash Bandicoot meets Metal Slug.

They have a demo up that you can download right now of Eliosi’s Hunt, giving gamers a small taste of the gameplay featured in the title. A trailer from late June also offers a look at some of the levels, the gunplay and the platforming antics implemented. You can check out the trailer below.

The demo features one entire stage from the game, along with a couple of secrets to uncover and the ability to upgrade Eliosi’s drone and skills.

The game itself sees players taking on the role of the alien Eliosi, as he attempts to make a name for himself as an intergalactic bounty hunter. Players will go on this journey as Eliosi will take on his very first bounty… only, it’s no where near as easy as he thought it would be.

Players will have to battle through robot armies, mutated plant life, nomad tribes and various traps and challenges in order to help Eliosi complete his mission.

The game looks like it plays out really fast and really smooth, taking great advantage of the Unreal Engine 4’s seamless blending techniques to give characters that fluid movement and control as they zip, run and roll around the levels.

TDZ Games is hoping to change around the perception usually associated with small indie teams, giving gamers the embedded idea that just because a team is small doesn’t mean they can’t provide high quality content. I think that a number of teams over the years have proven that, from thatgamecompany to Flying Wild Hog, to Interceptor Entertainment to Hello Games; small and mid-budget titles are totally possible with super high-quality content that’s not just limited to $100 million dollar projects.

While the press release states that the game is due for release on August 23rd for PS4 and Xbox One, the Steam store page states that Eliosi’s Hunt won’t be made available on Steam until October 1st. You can grab the demo right now, for free, or learn more about the game by visiting the official website.
