Batman: The Telltale Series Episode 2 Trailer Preps For Sept 20th Release
Batman: The Telltale Series

Telltale Games released the latest trailer for Batman: The Telltale Series‘ second episode. The trailer is just a minute and a half long and picks up in teasing gamers with everything that wrapped up in the first episode.

The trailer spends the first 30 seconds or so focusing on the revelation that Bruce’s parents are accused of being the biggest gangsters in Gotham. This struck the heart of the Dark Knight like Brexit struck the heart of the EU; feelings of betrayal and mistrust swelled within Gotham’s masked protector.

Before that angle is fully explored the trailer moves on toward more interesting fare… particularly the Children of Arkham, who strangely look like the bandits from Borderlands. You can check out the trailer below via GameTrailers.

We get to see Batman and Catwoman briefly team up, which will likely evolve into some sort of a strained romance. We see a mutated guy who appears to be a big guy, and few fight-scenes to help satiate the lusts of violence from the fanboys.

Telltale got off to a decent start with the first episode, so they have some momentum working in their favor. A lot of the storytelling will depend on how well they stay true to the characters of both Batman and Bruce Wayne, as well as ensuring that the villains are both properly motivated and properly characterized. The trailer seems to suggest that they’re on the right track.

I wonder if the next season (if there is one) will focus more on a hardened and mature Batman? I could also see Telltale doing a Robin arc really, really well. It seems like one of the few times where Robin could be done right and given the proper storytelling room to cover each notch on the scale, from the emotional loss of his parents to becoming a crime-fighting sidekick to Batman.

Anyway, you can look to get your hands on Batman: The Telltale Series Episode 2 starting next week on September 20th for home consoles, mobile devices and PC.
