DoDonPachi Resurrection Blasts Its Way Onto Steam With Bullet Hell Action

Cave Interactive and popular import-publisher Degica have released DoDonPachi Resurrection onto Steam. PC gamers now get to experience the bullet-hell arcade shooter that took Japan by storm.

The game is available on Steam for $29.99 but for the first week of being on sale you can grab a copy of the top-down shooter for 15% off the normal price, making it only $25.49.

The arcade title features a lot of the same elements that make most shoot-’em-ups popular, including a wide array of different, high-powered weapons in which to equip your ship with, along with incomparably difficult boss battles, and enough bullet particles to make the cops in the Howard Morgan case blush with envy. You can see what the game plays like with the launch trailer below.

The game boasts eight different game modes, which is quite impressive for a bullet hell game. Gamers will be able to take their shooting skills to the arcade gallery in a normal mode, which is the original arcade game, a normal 1.51 mode that features a different control system and scoring system, an Arrange B mode that is labeled as being highly customizable, a new Arrange A mode that features new ship mechanics from DoDonPachi Blissful Death, a Novice mode for beginners, a Black Label mode that features a different attack method and final boss, a Black Label Novice mode for newbies, and a Black Label Arrange mode that features the new Tiger Schwert ship from Ketsui.

All of these modes can also be played in two-player local co-op play, allowing you and a friend to tackle the missions and destroy some giant robot school-girls.

The early user reviews for the Steam port are mostly all positive, with various people saying that it’s one of the better bullet hell SHMUPs out there.

A lot of people are saying that Cave did a fantastic job with the port and that it’s a highly customizable game with tons of replay value, opting for many gamers to state that the amount of content featured in DDP Resurrection justifies the heavy price tag.

You can learn more about the game or pick up a digital copy by visiting the Steam store page.
