Endless Space 2 Set To Hit Steam Early Access On October 6th

Publisher SEGA and developer Amplitude Studios are back at it again with Endless Space 2, the second entry in the space simulator franchise. The sequel to the turn-based strategy space sim is said to add more content and new factions, along with other features. Endless Space 2 is set to release October 6th for PC via Steam Early Access.

I’m not sure if the second game of Endless Space will also sport a current rating of “Mixed” on Early Access as the first game, but based on some of the comments on the trailers and gameplay videos, I wouldn’t be shocked. However, if you don’t know anything about this game the official description sits below.

“The sequel to the two-time Unity-award winning Endless Space! Endless Space 2 is turn-based, 4X space-strategy that will put you in the fascinating role of a leader guiding his civilization in making its first steps into the cold depths of interstellar space. Your Vision. Their Future.”

As the leader in Endless Space 2 you will find yourself in “fascinating roles” that will either guide your civilization to colonizing the outer parts of space, or becoming yet another fallen colony to be forgotten.

Exploration of space and mysterious stars will be prominent, along with discovering secrets of ancient races. These other species hold advanced technology and unthinkable power, and like in other space games with alien races, you will be able to barter and trade with them.

Here’s a video that provides a first look at Endless Space 2. The video covers quite a bit of the core mechanics behind the space sim, courtesy of the game’s YouTube channel.

For an even better look at Endless Space 2, YouTuber MasterofRofleness has a series of Early Access gameplay videos showing the faction Vodyani. The video runs over 20 minutes and provides a decent ideal as to how the game will play out.

Endless Space 2 will release on October 6th for Steam Early Access, and will be for PC. For more info on this game you can visit the endless-space.com.
