CI Games announced on Monday that they are delaying Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The game is being pushed out of its mid-January 2017 release and is now scheduled to launch on April 4th, 2017.

The announcement was made as CI Games reflected on their current development cycle for the title, revealing that they needed a few more months to polish and optimize the gameplay for home consoles and PC (although, I get that sinking feeling it’s more about home consoles than PC.

According to Marek Tymiński, CEO of CI Games, he stated in the press announcement…

“Our goal is to ensure Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 runs smoothly on all platforms, and right now we still have some important work left on optimizing the game. This is our biggest project we’ve ever worked on and the entire team is pushing really hard to make the entire experience more polished. I really hope everyone will understand our decision and will wait the extra time to play something we’re excited about, and that will redefine our IP and the sniping genre as a whole.”

There has actually been quite a bit of positive feedback on Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3. The game’s polished gameplay, multiple choices in how to approach each level and each mission, and the ability to utilize the environment to take out targets, actually managed to get a lot of hardcore gamers interested in the title.

We’re definitely seeing the reemergence of the mid-budget studios during eighth-gen, and that’s definitely a good thing. We’re seeing more games with smaller budgets attempting to do bigger things on the gameplay front, and we’re seeing more games with high-end tech trying to push the boundaries of their respective genre. It’s all happening in the indie and mid-tier sector, though. AAA publishers are still sticking with tried and true methods, with the exception of Battlefield 1.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 will focus on a civil war taking place in northern Georgia. Players will take on the role of an American sniper named Jonathan North looking for his brother while also completing missions.

Day and night cycles, customizable weapons, random weather and dynamic AI all promise to make Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 both an exhilarating and replayable gameplay experience. You can learn more about the game by paying a visit to the official website.

Such focus on a huge project is big responsibility. CI Games knows, that they make a “wow” to the world and now they got problems with smooth gameplay on consoles. They must react fast and take a hard decision. I understand this and i respect that, becouse they want me to buy this game, so the game must be troublefree.

Ambitious projects needs time. And CI Games said it loud: we want to make this game trobulefree and want to make your experience better. So i agree with them, and hope to see more news from SGW3.
