The Captain, Point-And-Click Sci-Fi Game Set To Release In Early 2017

Successfully getting through Steam Greenlight is a major milestone achievement, and Sysiac Games’ The Captain managed to do so. The point and click game is now polished up enough to sport a release date of 2017, and will hit PC sometime early next year.

Developers Sysiac Games seeks to bring back point and click games with adventure and multiple ending that are altered by choices made throughout one’s playthrough. This game will come in the form of The Captain, which the official description for the game sits below.

“You play as Captain Welmu, a 35 year old space pilot happily married with two children. In 2300 you get sent on a routine mission to explore an anomaly close to Mars Colony 03. Something goes wrong and the game starts with you waking up many light years away from home. You are ill equipped and in unknown space. Getting home at maximum speed will take you at least forty years. What to do now? You decide! You are the Captain!”

Honestly, I’m really liking how the environment and universe looks in The Captain. Sure, there are a lot of indie games that rock pixelated designs like this game, but I think it’s the polish and scope that makes this project seem a lot more interesting compared to the vast amount of other indie pixel games out there.

Furthermore, the devs just posted up a new screenshot for the game on their Twitter page showing an attempt to escape prison.

If you haven’t seen The Captain before, an older trailer sits below for your viewing pleasure.

If the above trailer seems like something worth playing, an actual alpha demo is up and available to play right now. You can access this demo by heading on over to sysiac.com/thecaptain/demo.

The Captain is set to release during the first quarter of 2017, and will be for PC. For more information on this point and click game, or if you want to learn about the devs, you can hit up sysiac.com.
