Leading up to the release of WWE 2K17 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, 2K has been lifting embargoes on some of the content, allowing YouTubers to post up some of the content for the game, including the Phenomenal One AJ Styles, Roman Reigns and Shinsuke Nakamura.
YouTuber SmackTalks posted up the video featuring the entrances of Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Nakamura, Reigns and Styles. You can check out the video below.
Visual Concepts did a great job on some of the characters. They paid a lot of love to Roman Reigns and people like John Cena. Their models look awesome and they have great, quality entrances. Dean Ambrose looks okay but his pasted hair looks terrible.
AJ Styles looks okay but his hair is weird since it doesn’t move and he has poor light mapping, making him look like a giant plastic doll.
Hands down, the best entrance in the video is clearly Shinsuke Nakamura’s. The lighting and effects for Nakamura’s entrance are just perfect. The specular offset from the all black difussion to give a dynamic contrast between the entrance lights was utilized perfectly by Yukes. Very well done.
Seth Rollins looked okay, definitely better than AJ Styles but his hair was still a little off.
You can tell some of the characters get more attention than others, obviously. I’m curious how they’ll make Kevin Owens look in the game? Maybe they already showcased him and I just missed him.
Anyway, WWE 2K17 is due for release on October 11th for the PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360. There’s likely going to be a PC version at some point down the line, usually released during the following spring. 2K has been doing that lately since WWE 2K15, so don’t be surprised if by next year they announce that WWE 2K17 will arrive on PC.
