Dishonored 2 Launch Trailer Is A Compilation Of Fatalities

Bethesda and Arkane Studios released the launch trailer for Dishonored 2, featuring a brief overview of the game’s story and a focus on the brutal combat mechanics that are afforded to players for the purpose of exploiting like the Podesta brothers exploit their indulgence into “cheesy pizza”.

The trailer is just under two minutes and is a compilation of many of the really cool kills you can carry in the game.

You can check out the trailer below.

One thing you really need to keep in mind is that said “cool kills” are not automated. Everything you see requires manual player-input. That cool teleporting skill? You have to set that up and time it right. That awesome chain-kill using the doppelganger? You have to paint multiple targets and then execute accordingly.

Dishonored 2 (just like the first game) is one of those very rare games where the skills and techniques carried out that look really cool actually require players to know what they’re doing. It’s a lot different from games like Watch Dogs 2 where you can take out a bunch of guys in melee combat by tapping one button. This isn’t a hand-holding game.

You also have to time your blocks, pick and choose your targets and know when to forfeit stealth and go in with guns-a-blazin’ like Rambo gone Sith.

Arkane Studios designed Dishonored 2 as a true sandbox game. The choices and the skills you utilize are entirely up to you. How you complete missions – who you kill and if you kill – are entirely up to you.

Dishonored 2 represents a very rare game that focuses mostly on player agency. We don’t get that too often these days where you’re hand-held throughout most of the gameplay and the entirety of the mission is mostly just following a checkpoint marker where all the cool stuff happens in a cut-scene… like Watch Dogs 2 or Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Anyway, you can look to get your hands on Dishonored 2 starting November 11th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
