Looking for a guide to get the airship or the Regalia Type-F in Final Fantasy XV? The flyable air-car in Square Enix’s latest JRPG can be found across both PS4 and Xbox One by taking up a couple of side quests.
The airship or Regalia Type-F can only be obtained after beating the game, however there is a video guide showing how to get the flying vehicle, which comes in by the all-things-guide related source PowerPyx. You can check out the three minute and 24 second long video below.
Investigating Formouth Garrison In Leide
When infiltrating the Formouth Garrison in Leide go near the Garrison and you will see a new side quest called “Formouth Garrison”. This side quest can be initiated as early as Chapter 8, however the enemies will be around level 50 if not higher. The recommended action for this side quest is to come back when you are finish the game or by finding a leveling exploit to boost your level to participate in the high level side quest.
Into Unknown Frontiers
After the completion of the side quest “Formouth Garrison” you will receive an item called the Strange Engine. The item will trigger a new side quest entitled “Into Unknown Frontiers” that will task you to travel to the part where Cindy is located at Hammerhead outpost. There are actually three of these strange parts that consist of the Warped Wings from the Garrsion in chapter 5, the Unstable Stabilizer from the Garrison in Chapter 6, and the Strange Engine from Formouth Garrison side quest.
Getting the Regalia Type-F
Once done with the aforementioned you will be able to talk to Cindy and have her upgrade your Regalia with the Type-F module piece so that you can get the flying car.
You can also unlock the trophy “Regalia Pilot” by putting the vehicle in manual drive and picking up speed and pressing the take off button to ascend in the sky (to take off on PS4 press Circle, on Xbox One press B).
Final Fantasy XV is out now for Xbox One and PS4.
