We covered Lightspeed Frontier before on this site noting its run through Kickstarter, which raised over $2,665 with 188 backers supporting the project. After the indie game passed through Steam Greenlight the devs, Crowdwork Studios and Riveted Games, will finally get their game on Steam Early Access and it will release in the first quarter of 2017.
If you are into space simulators and building your very own ships in a sandbox setting, I think it’s worth noting that Lightspeed Frontier might be a game worth checking out. The official description sits below if you want to learn more about Lightspeed Frontier.
“You’ve decided to leave everything behind and try your hand at captaining a ship on the fringes of the universe. Customize your ship, take on crime lords, compete against corporations, and embark on an adventure on the Lightspeed Frontier!”
In the voxel sandbox Sci-Fi game, you have the opportunity to explore and influence the universe by interacting with corporations around the galaxy and making decisions on the fly to create your own path. If influencing people and doing random stuff seems boring you can also take up open ended missions around the universe that are said to have a lasting effect on your surroundings.
The older trailer showing Lightspeed Frontier sits below if you are curious as to how the game looks.
Additional features for this game include upgrading your ship and battling in dogfights, the former of which sees players completing various quests that are scattered around the frontier, while the latter offers technique and battle maneuvers that are said to be somewhat complex.
Lastly, a feature that I think is kinda cool is that people the player encounter throughout their adventure (the AI) will remember the player and their actions. Actions can change advertisements, headlines, direct messages from other people, and finding work that can only be acquired by exploring different parts of space and meeting other individuals.
