Steven Seagal Is Now Playable In World Of Warships

One of the last remaining action heroes from a bygone era has made a return to form… in a video game. While his real life stature prevents him from running or… doing much of anything else, Steven Seagal has found a new calling, as a spokesperson for Wargaming’s World of Warships. I kid you not.

Not only is the fighting food vanquisher promoting World of Warships, but the diet dodger is also going to be playable for a limited time within the game as a naval commander.

According to a post over on the official World of Warships website, they announced that the impossible was made possible, and the teriyaki terminator is unlockable for a limited time in World of Warships

“Using only the most cutting-edge technology, World of Warships has digitally distilled Steven Seagal’s zen wisdom and martial prowess into a Commander for your American ships!”

I didn’t even think it was possible, but it is. And you know what? You can check out the promo trailer for your own viewing pleasure to see the burger brutalizer in action.

This news is kind of weird, because Steven Seagal’s last Under Siege movie featuring warships was back in 1992. I don’t know when the last time Seagal was on a warship in a movie. I know there was some kind of a fight on a water vessel in some flick where he fought Gary Daniels, but I didn’t watch that movie because I didn’t want to see Gary Daniels getting beat by someone for which he is clearly more skilled.

Anyway, the ability to unlock Steven Seagal as a playable commander will be open for the next six weeks. He’s listed as a six-point commander and can be unlocked by anyone who gains 70,000 Base XP from either co-op missions, ranked battles or random fights. Once you unlock the calamari crusher, you’ll be able to keep him and play with him forever.

While Seagal is clearly no where near as reputable in the action movie scene as he once was, he did used to have some of the most brutal, realistic and uncompromisingly ultra-violent fight scenes ever put to film. That’s no joke.

Ouch. They just don’t make ’em like they used to.
