xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage Trailer Puts A Focus On Donnie Yen
xXx: The Return of Xander Cage

“Hey, this isn’t gaming news!” some of you are saying in the back of your minds. You’re right, it’s a movie trailer about a movie that looks pretty ridiculous, but it features international martial arts superstar Donnie Yen in a major role!

The master of many martial arts appears to take on the villain’s role in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. He appears to be channeling the Bodhi role that Patrick Swayze embodied in Kathryn Bigelow’s timeless epic, Point Break.

You get to see Yen kicking butt and taking names in the trailer below via ZeroMedia, which also features Ruby Rose as a lesbian sniper, a soccer player named Neymar, and of course, Vin Diesel.

Samuel L. Jackson returns as Xander Cage’s handler, and there’s also Tony Jaa in the film but they don’t show him much in the trailer.

There has got to be a fight scene between Tony Jaa and Donnie Yen somewhere in there. That would be the most awesome thing.

Jaa appears to be a bad guy in the film, though, so either he’s going to fight Vin Diesel or someone else on Diesel’s team. The main problem is that Team Diesel doesn’t have anyone near as good to keep up with Jaa and Yen.

There are some people thinking that the movie will take a twist and Yen and Diesel will end up teaming up together, but it’s tough to tell based on the trailer. It gives away a lot, yet not everything.

The movie looks like big dumb fun. The first two films were pretty dumb but this third film seems to borrow from the Fast & Furious formula by throwing in as many characters as possible in the most ridiculous situations imaginable.

xXx: The Return of Xander Cage is due to drop on January 20th, 2017 next year.
