Vikings: Wolves Of Midgard Kindles Gory Isometric Gameplay In New Trailer

Games Farm has been working hard on their upcoming isometric, action-RPG, Vikings: Wolves of Midgard. The new title is a mythological, action-oriented romp through the a fantasy world ravaged by monsters and beasts of old.

Publisher Kalypso Media released a new trailer for Vikings: Wolves of Midgard, recently, showcasing a game that seems to be one-part Golden Axe, one part Diablo and one part Vikings: Battle for Asgard.

You can check out the full trailer for the upcoming title below.

The gameplay also reminds me a little bit of Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance but a lot faster and a lot gorier.

Players will be able to loot the blood of the fallen and use the kills to unlock new powers and abilities, as well as unlock additional skills for different sets of weapons, ranging from swords and axes to bows and magic canes.

The story itself centers around the world being torn apart by the conjoined armies of the Frost Giants and the Fire Giants. Only the clan of the Wolves from Midgard can put an end to the meddling of the gods.

Players will have the choice of either taking on the role of a male or female Viking, battling through the hordes of Niflheim and the fiery dregs of Balheim.

It’s a fantasy, action-oriented RPG that pays homage to games like Diablo and God of War. The game seems to be solidly designed and there’s an ample supply of giant bosses to face off against along the way.

For gamers who hate to play alone there’s an online cooperative mode for up to two players to join forces and battle against any and everything standing in the way of Midgard’s safety.

There’s an old-school appeal to the game that seems to hearken back to the days when gaming was about having fun, saving the day and defeating evil.

You can look for Vikings: Wolves of Midgard to launch in early 2017 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Sadly, no Nintendo Switch release in sight… yet. For more info you can either visit the Steam store page or the official website.
