Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Videos Reveal Samurai Job And More

Square Enix has released a new video, or better put extended the opening movie, showing the new Samurai job in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood that primarily focuses on using quick DPS attacks to handle formidable foes. The game is already out, but Stormblood is set to launch across PS4 and PC on June 30th.

There’s no doubt that the trailers for Final Fantasy XIV are very stylized with awe inducing environments, couple with unique looking characters. And with the latest trailer, or extended opening movie, reflecting the upcoming Samurai Job, there’s no exception to the above.

For those who are not in the know, during the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest 2017 in Frankfurt, Germany, Square Enix released the new extended trailer for fans to drool over. Tagging along with said video comes four more videos revealing in-game footage of the Samurai job and new locations in action.

The job has been confirmed by Square Enix to join the Red Mage in the field of DPS, meaning that the Katana-wielding class will use STR gear.

The update will also bring a new player hub, residential area, and dungeons for players to explore. The first of the three comes a port town of Kugane, where players can use it as a hub in Stormblood. The second feature will stand as a new residential area that sports eastern-style housing and neighborhoods. The the third feature will include Yanxia the Azim Steppe as a new dungeon area for folks to explore.

The devs also announced that the Kojin is a new Beast Tribe in the realm of Stormblood. This new group, the Kojin, is commonly found on and around the Ruby Sea, and consist of well trained traders who bargain with other outsiders.

Before signing out, there are five videos that are mentioned above that you can watch below. The first of the five can be seen thanks to Final Fantasy XIV.

The other four videos are by Aether Chronicle. The first of the four show off the Samurai job, while the other three reveal the new locations with in-game footage.
