Horizon Zero Dawn: How To Get The Shield Weaver Armor
Horizon Zero Dawn - Shield Weaver Armor
(Last Updated On: March 5, 2017)

One of the outfits that a lot of gamers have been curious about obtaining in Guerrilla Games’ Horizon: Zero Dawn is the Shield Weaver armor as part of the Ancient Armory quest. If you’re in need of a little bit of help in acquiring it, this guide might help you out.

So what makes the Shield Weaver armor so good? Well, it’s an over-powered piece of equipment that makes you invulnerable so long as it’s charged. Think of it like the overshield for Master Chief in the Halo games. Once the shield takes too much damage and flashes red, it’ll need to recharge, but you can take actual health damage if the shield is too low. So run around until the shield recharges and then you’ll become invincible again. So it’s not hard to see why this is one of the more popular armor pieces in Horizon: Zero Dawn.

YouTuber PS4 Trophies put together a quick eight minute video walking gamers through each step and showing them exactly what needs to be done in order to acquire the Shield Weaver armor.

So first up, you’ll need to head to the secret bunker where there are five power cells required to unlock the door. Inside the door you’ll find the Shield Weaver armor. Once you access the bunker you’ll then be able to acquire the power cells to unlock the door. You’ll find the bunker marked on the location on the map in the image below.

Horizon Zero Dawn - Shield Weaver Armor location

You’ll need to find to hidden power cells in order to open the door. The first power cell is located at the ruins. You won’t be able to access it at the early portions of the game but later on you’ll be able to. When down in the ruins, you’ll need to venture into the room indicated in the image below.

Inside the room there’s a locked door and behind the door there’s a hallway with some frozen stuff blocking the way. You break the blockade and go inside and activate the green icon to grab the first power cell. This will activate the Ancient Armory quest officially, which is setup for those level 25 and higher.

The second power cell is located at the old village ruins in the southern part of the map, as indicated in the video at the 3:25 mark. Head down inside the hut and another green marker will indicate the second power cell required to open the first door to the Ancient Armory.

The next power cell for the other door is located at the Faro highrise corporate building near the end of the game. At the very top of the building on the top floor – head behind you and there’s a crumbling wall that you can climb behind the door you entered from. Climb up the wall and then climb up the crumbling ledge after you climb the wall. Continue up the damaged structure until you reach the top and there’s a power cell in a supply box up there.

The fourth power cell you’ll need is located at the Grave Hoard location far north on the map in the snowy region. Once you turn all the dials inside of the Fora station a door will open up and inside is another power cell.

The fifth power cell is located at Gaia Prime, which is where Aloy heads before taking on the very last and final mission. So clearly you won’t be getting the Weaver armor any time soon in your play through.

After the cinematic ends where Aloy talks to Sylens in the assembly room at Gaia Prime, head outside and go to your right. Do not go to the zipline. Instead, go to the edge of the ledge just before you get to the zipline and you can drop down, as indicated in the video above. Keep heading down and to the left and you’ll find a power cell through a small cave where the fifth and final power cell is located.

When you get back to the Ancient Armory room, you’ll need to modify the dials. From left to right, the four dials should be facing: Up, Right, Down, Left Up.

In order to release the clamps on the Shield Weaver armor you’ll need to first activate the power for them, which requires power cells. Thankfully you have the other three cells, so just head into the next room and activate the power cells.

For the dial puzzle, you’ll need to set the dials to face the following directions: Right, Left, Up, Right, Left.

Once you complete the puzzle, the clamps will let up and you can get the Shield Weaver armor. The armor is located in the box at the bottom of your inventory. Open the box to activate the armor. Bam, you’re done!

Horizon: Zero Dawn is currently available right now, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

Header image looks like a Crysis mod or something.

In other news, the EU overwhelmingly voted to arrest Marine Le Pen for tweeting images of ISIS to show how violent they are. Of course the EU is going to vote against anyone who wants to leave the EU. So glad I don’t live under their fascist rule. Assholes.

    • durka durka

Cut the clueless retarded horseshit, Eu is not fascist, it is technocratic and ambassadory, the reason Eu is a mess is because no one agrees on fucking everything nor has the will to push for any change. Le penn abused money that EU gave her, thats a scandal, but we ignore that dont we? Le penn used fake news on her twitter and showing hatefull acts is pure populism and pushes hate. Le penn is not good for france, she is too socialist for wilders and afd, she wont fix anything she will make things worse, she wants to protect the special snowlflakes like the unionists and will inflate the currency, She is nothing more than a national socialist populist. Fillion or Makron are both better because they are reformists, they will kill the rampant socialist unionists problem from the root while Le penn will pit nationalist socialist unionists against leftists.

This is what i am talking about, people who dont know French or anything about France, have an opinion on it. People who dont know the first thing about the Eu like sargon of akkad want to have a fucking opinion on it.

For fucks sake, you morons sound like sjws “hur dur eu is fascist and arrest anyone who wants to leave eu”

1.Not doing whatever the fuck you want because of rules is not fascist you fucking moron, stop talking like a sjw.

      2. Wilders was arrested for saying stupid shit too, by the Dutch police. Also stop prasing Wilders he might be leading the polls but with 19% he cant form a government and rule the country.

      3. Fascist eh? If you want to leave that is what article 50 is for. No one is stopping you, fucking hell men, you MURICANS really need to stop having an opinion about things you dont understand.

4.Junker released the white bible showing different scenarios of where Eu could go and he said those are not the only available options, they will all discuss where they go. Also he wont be a candidate for head of EU parliament, so the people that european citizens voted for Eu parliament, will democraticly vote someone else, which they already have….wow the people that the people voted for the eu parliament have the ability to vote on who will be in charge of the parliament..wow that sounds totally like fascism :S

5.No one arrested Farage all those years.

Seriously shut the fuck up about things you dont have a fucking clue about, you sound like the typical republican fucktard that starts spouting nonsense about got, because he has a fucking opinion on complex science he does not understand.

Fucking hell man, i dont even care but the fact you MORONS thing you are informed about those things and want to have an opinion when in fact you dont have the first fucking clue, it pisses me off.

      • Just curious, what makes you label the EU as technocratic? Seems more plutocratic to me, working under the guise of altruism.

First off, I don’t presume to know everything. If I’m wrong about anything, feel free to correct me. You don’t need to be abusive about it. I don’t think anything in my previous comment implied that I knew enough about France.

I was going to change the word fascist right after I wrote it, because I knew someone would blow up at the use of the word, but I was too tired and went to bed. There are so many label words for all these political groups and theories and what not, I don’t know exactly what’s what anymore.

What I do know is that the EU doesn’t want the EU to break up, obviously, and they’re doing whatever they can to stop it. I keep hearing there’s a lot of corruption with the EU, which seems like an obvious thing when there are higher levels of government. Corrupt people are attracted to those kinds of positions. They like to be on top of everyone else, and take advantage of it.

My opinion, is that I fundamentally disagree with arresting someone just because they tweeted an image to show what ISIS is doing, because it’s violent, or whatever. Under that argument, couldn’t a lot of us be arrested for all sorts of shit? What about all the pedo images on Twitter that are allowed to stay up? Nobody is doing anything about those.

And are you trying to say the timing on arresting Le Pen has nothing to do with the EU at all? Isn’t it obvious they didnt arrest Farage because they were certain Brexit would fail, and they already smeared him in so many other ways? There are tons of ways to deal with political opponents. This seems like one of them. If she’s as corrupt as you described, why didn’t they arrest her based on one of those things?

I never said Le Pen would be good for France, because I don’t know enough about her. I watched several videos of her talking about various things, and she seemed very reasonable in those videos, especially when compared to the people questioning her. But I’m well aware there’s always a bigger picture with multiple sides. No politician or party are going to be 100% agreeable on every matter. People can only vote for whoever is the least crappy.

I’m someone who has no faith in voting systems. I’ve seen them fail so many times, both on small scale and large scale, political and not. You talk about people who don’t really know what they’re talking about. To be honest, if I had the option of voting in the French election, I wouldn’t, because I know I haven’t gathered enough information about it to make an informed decision.

That’s one of the reasons why I think voting is bullshit. Votes are always influenced by too many people who don’t really know anything, or are easily tricked into believing lies, or are just voting because their friends/family made them. I’m well aware of this, so you’re just preaching to the choir.

The world is a mess right now because too many people have opinions on stuff they don’t know anything about. I personally think that only people who actually know enough about a subject should be allowed to have an opinion of it. Maybe that’s “fascist”, I don’t know.

        Finally, I’m not Murican.

I agree with Disgusted, and i’m not an american too! EU is islam’s right hand man

        • Disqusted

From what I’ve heard, the EU is just another bunch of disconnected, corrupt old politicians. People who are high up on the power and authority chain often don’t understand what regular people have to go through. I’m not saying I have any solution for that, though. Nor am I super knowledgeable about the EU or anything.

I just keep remembering how, when I was in school, they taught us about how castes/societal classes were wrong/evil and no longer exist. The hell they don’t. They’re just less obvious.

Not exactly sure why they’re so eager to bring in Islamic refugees. I’ve heard a lot of people’s takes on it, but I personally suspect it’s primarily as a distraction, to give regular people something to focus on and blame, while the corrupt politicians do nasty stuff behind the scenes. Same with all the other stuff, like SJWs, etc. I think they’re there to distract and divide.

          • EroBotan

yeah, there should be a reason why those politicians are so keen on ruining their own country (like they’re taking bribe from arabs, grooming more liberal voters for election, etc)
