Munch Time 2: 2D Metroidvania Platform Game Needs Votes For Greenlight

Munch Time 2 is an open world 2D platform game, developed by the indie development studio at Gamistry Games.

In Munch Time 2, you play as a small little chameleon named Munch, that has the ability to run, jump, and use his tongue to swing across flowers to navigate the stages.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw Munch Time 2 was the 3D platformer on the N64, Chameleon Twist and its sequel game, mixed with a big helping dose of Yoshi’s Island. One of the really cool things about Munch Time 2 though, is that the game is a Metroidvania-style adventure game that takes place in an open world and allows you to freely exploring the detailed and beautifully crafted world that is exploding with environments filled with vibrant colors and interesting creatures.

Munch Time 2 features impressive and very smooth 2D animations which brings the entire world to life. The developers say that you will be able to unlock new skills and abilities as you progress throughout the game. You will need to collect Sun-Bits to unlock new abilities and access different flower types- which Munch uses to swing from one area to the next. The thing about collecting the Sun-Bits is that they must be collected in a specific order, and this is where the free-roaming adventure part comes in.

The developers released both a Steam Greenlight trailer and a gameplay trailer, so take a look at the two videos that I linked down below.

The sound effects and the soundtrack sounds absolutely delightful as well, so it looks like Munch Time 2 will be an extremely high-quality 2D platform adventure game. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of this game.

For now, Munch Time 2 is in its Beta testing phase, but the developers are expecting the game to release sometime in this year. If you are interested in supporting the developers, you can head on over to the Steam Greenlight to cast your vote to help them get onto the Steam Store. Last but not least, make sure to check out the official website to learn more.
