Square Enix Reveals NieR: Automata March 17th PC Release Date
(Last Updated On: March 2, 2017)

The information that Square Enix just released for Platinum Games’ NieR: Automata stands to be very good news. If you prefer gaming on PC and like NieR: Automata there’s no doubt that you’ll enjoy yourself come March 17th, when the game becomes available via Steam.

Looking back at last year’s E3 or so, Platinum Games showcased NieR: Automata and it caught the attention of many gamers, including me. The game was announced for PS4, and shortly afterwards — in August of 2016 — a video by Yoko Taro was posted up hinting at a PC/Steam release.

Well, now the game is out in Japan and will soon hit North America on March 7th and Europe on March 10th for PS4. Adding on to that the game is set to release for PC via Steam on March 17th.

This information was officially announced by Square Enix and still stands — to let fans know that it is legit and an official announcement — over on square-enix.com. The site holds all of the specs one would need to know so that whether you have a potato on hand, or a beast rig (or maybe something in between) you will know what it takes to run the game.

For all the curious ones out there, here are the minimum required specs to run the game:

Minimum Specs

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit / Windows 8.1 64-bit / Windows 10 64-bit (32-bit OS not supported)
  • CPU: Intel Core i3 2100 or higher, AMD A8-6500 or higher
  • Memory: 4GB or higher free space
  • Hard-Disk / SSD: 50GB or higher
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 VRAM 2GB or higher / AMD Radeon R9 270X VRAM 2GB or higher
  • Sound Card: DirectX 11 or higher
  • Communication Environment: Broadband or higher
  • Screen Resolution: 1280×720
  • DirectX: DirectX 11
  • Other: Mouse, Keyboard, Gamepad (XInput-only)

And here are all of the recommended specs to run NieR: Automata:

Recommended Specs

  • OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit / Windows 10 64-bit (32-bit OS not supported)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 4670 or higher, AMD A10-7850K or higher
  • Memory: 8GB or higher free space
  • Hard-Disk / SSD: 50GB or higher
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 VRAM 4GB or higher / AMD Radeon R9 380X VRAM 4GB or higher
  • Sound Card: DirectX 11 or higher
  • Communication Environment: Broadband or higher
  • Screen Resolution: 1920×1080
  • DirectX: DirectX 11
  • Other: Mouse, Keyboard, Gamepad (XInput-only)

Now all one has to do is sit back and wait for all the talented modders to insert good assets and mods so that the game can shine even brighter. But, until then the game is set to release Westward on March 7th in North America and March 10th in Europe for PS4, while the PC version is set to drop on March 17th.

I hope Nier automata isn’t censored like that other game drakengard-3.

That was censored for more comic value, bought it without knowing the game been censored because the producer hasn’t faith in their game.

Yoko darkest moments, bet he cried that his master piece was heavy censored the swearing tone down. The infamous five bloody midriff & ditto snarling remakes remove.

Edit: but I have faith the community will tell me if the game is censored. After all the game got a higher rating for EU pegi-18.
