Defenders Trailer Teases Netflix Superhero Team-Up

Netflix released a new teaser trailer for The Defenders, the upcoming ensemble superhero team-up show centered around Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and the Iron Fist.

The teaser trailer is only a minute and a half long, and it doesn’t actually sport much of anything substantial (it is a teaser trailer, by the way). However, we get to see Cage, Murdock, Rand and Jones in an elevator. The shot is from the perspective of an elevator cam looking down on the quartet of street-level vigilantes. You can check it out below, courtesy of One Media.

For some reason Murdock is wearing Iron Fist’s head mask instead of his traditional Dare Devil costume. I wonder if his outfit was stolen or if he has to put on a makeshift mask due to a desperate situation or something?

Anyway, the clip doesn’t last long as Jessica reaches up and punches out the camera.

The elevator camera footage ends specifically at 8.18:20.17. Essentially it appears as if the Defenders will launch on Netflix on August 18th, 2017.

After the 14 second elevator clip, the rest of the trailer is just a series of newspaper clippings being ripped away to reveal the names of the four lower-level Marvel heroes, with Stick saying in the background that they can’t save New York if they can’t save themselves.

People are sort of excited, but a lot more people are looking forward to Daredevil: Season 3 and the debut of the first season of The Punisher.

There are a lot of complaints, arguments and confusion centered around whether or not certain shows lived up to the quality of the first two seasons of Daredevil, and whether or not the newest shows compare to it.

There seems to be a lot of disappointment with the fight scenes from Iron Fist, and people are lukewarm about Jessica Jones, and they only seemed to like the first half of Luke Cage. Maybe they can knock it out of the park with The Defenders and capture a little bit of the magic from each of the shows and combine it into one?

I guess we’ll find out when the series airs later this year.
