Defenders Trailer Teases Netflix Superhero Team-Up
The Defenders Netflix (2017)
(Last Updated On: April 5, 2017)

Netflix released a new teaser trailer for The Defenders, the upcoming ensemble superhero team-up show centered around Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and the Iron Fist.

The teaser trailer is only a minute and a half long, and it doesn’t actually sport much of anything substantial (it is a teaser trailer, by the way). However, we get to see Cage, Murdock, Rand and Jones in an elevator. The shot is from the perspective of an elevator cam looking down on the quartet of street-level vigilantes. You can check it out below, courtesy of One Media.

For some reason Murdock is wearing Iron Fist’s head mask instead of his traditional Dare Devil costume. I wonder if his outfit was stolen or if he has to put on a makeshift mask due to a desperate situation or something?

Anyway, the clip doesn’t last long as Jessica reaches up and punches out the camera.

The elevator camera footage ends specifically at 8.18:20.17. Essentially it appears as if the Defenders will launch on Netflix on August 18th, 2017.

After the 14 second elevator clip, the rest of the trailer is just a series of newspaper clippings being ripped away to reveal the names of the four lower-level Marvel heroes, with Stick saying in the background that they can’t save New York if they can’t save themselves.

People are sort of excited, but a lot more people are looking forward to Daredevil: Season 3 and the debut of the first season of The Punisher.

There are a lot of complaints, arguments and confusion centered around whether or not certain shows lived up to the quality of the first two seasons of Daredevil, and whether or not the newest shows compare to it.

There seems to be a lot of disappointment with the fight scenes from Iron Fist, and people are lukewarm about Jessica Jones, and they only seemed to like the first half of Luke Cage. Maybe they can knock it out of the park with The Defenders and capture a little bit of the magic from each of the shows and combine it into one?

I guess we’ll find out when the series airs later this year.

I watched both seasons of DareDevil and I can’t wait for season 3 and the Punisher series.

I haven’t watched Jessica Jones or Luke Cage.

I watched the first episode of Iron Fist and thought the story was boring “don’t you guy remember me?” and the fighting was weak as hell.

I don’t know if I’d watch Defenders. I hope they don’t make DD suck.

Alias: Jessica Jones was an odd duck to include in this lineup; I have to conclude it was done for diversity points. In the original comic book JJ is an ex-one-hit-wonder hero with superpowers she refuses to use and a massive, massive case of borderline personality disorder. In the genre of “comic book characters manifesting realistically portrayed mental illness” it’s probably the standout leader, but I question whether anyone really wanted such a thing.

Stick saying in the background that they can’t save New York if they can’t save themselves.

It is the worst kept secret in the medical profession that many – possibly most – of the people in the mental health and social work professions are there because of their own trainwreck lives, and that they’re compensating for their own inability to function by “helping” others. I don’t want to see that dynamic in a superhero show.

I dunno about this, i liked DD a lot but :

Jessica Jones i couldnt get past episode 2 (got bored with all the sex, virtue signaling and all the non relevant to super heroing things going on)

Luke Cage i finished but only because i had binge inertia while playing XCOM 2, it started as average and got progressively worse

Iron Fist started extremely boring and uninteresting, got a bit better after that then went full meh again, i got through most of it with binge inertia (again XCOM2), i had to stop to sleep 2 eps before the end and never felt like picking it up again

Ill try it since it cost me nothing extra, sure, but i am not excited at all, i would not pay extra for it and i would rather have punisher or DD season 3 instead like Billy says in the article
