Planet Nomads Steam Trailer Resembles No Man’s Sky And Mass Effect: Andromeda
(Last Updated On: April 6, 2017)

Planet Nomads, by Craneballs, started on Kickstarter and has now landed on the Steam Early Access “coming soon” page. The indie game is set to launch for PC via Early Access on April 18th.

Not only did Planet Nomads just hit Steam Early Access’ coming soon page, but it brought along with it a brand new trailer. For me and many others, the trailer resembles that of No Man’s Sky and Mass Effect: Andromeda, which are two games that aren’t so great to resemble if you ask me. The suit design looks a lot like the latter game, while the former game can be found in Planet Nomads’ building system, planet design and vehicles.

Although I may not like the two named games that Planet Nomads resembles, if you happen to find the look of ME:A to be pleasing and the mechanics of No Man’s Sky to be awesome, you might find some catharsis in Planet Nomads.

“Planet Nomads is a sci-fi sandbox game of survival on alien planets through lego-style building. You are a lone astronaut scientist crash-landing on a strangely captivating planet where no human has set foot before. Keeping your wit together and securing your basic survival needs that include food, water and building material is your best start towards figuring out how to get out of this messy situation.”

If you want to take a look at the game and its original announcement trailer the video comes in thanks to Planet Nomads‘ YouTube channel.

The developers behind the game also released a video showing the map and stage editor tools. The video runs close to three minutes and reveals how the tools operate when making stuff in the realm of Planet Nomads.

The last video covers the latest progress that the developers have made on Planet Nomads. The video provides an early look at the game with in-game footage and commentary by Craneball’s developer Daniel Maslovsky.

The game is set to hit Steam Early Access on April 18th and will be for PC. For more information on this game you can visit Steam Early Access or planet-nomads.com.

What the hell is that header image? It looks like a debug test map.

There seems to be a drive on to create a video game version of The Martian. The whole problem with that is that in real-time and in the real world, survival tasks are some incredibly tedious shit, and if you screw up even once you probably die. That doesn’t sound like fun.
