StarCraft Full Game Available For Free Download

Over on the official StarCraft website, Blizzard announced that with the release of patch 1.18 for StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood War, gamers can download the original title for free.

You can download StarCraft for PC or Mac.

The client will load up and allow you to play the classic 1998 RTS and the follow-up expansion Brood War… for free.

The 1.18 patch also added a number of new features to the game, including an Observer mode so you can watch a match unfold as a spectator, along with instant replay saves and the ability to track actions per minute.

New cursor clamping and Alt-Enter for windowed and full-screen modes have also been added, along with new online playlist options such as “Popular Maps” so you can easily find certain game times and multiplayer games. There’s new UPnP support, improved LAN support, and better responsiveness during LAN speeds over Battle.net.

They fixed a number of glitches in the game as well, along with optimized the LAN across Battle.net.

The classic RTS title has been a beloved part of Blizzard’s success over the years, and a staple franchise in the company’s long-running operations. It was also a game made during a time when developers were allowed to be creative with their stories and tell tales that weren’t coddling safe-space approved pieces of bullcrap.

Anyway, if you want to rekindle some of that nostalgia and play the remastered version of StarCraft for free, you can do so by downloading the updated classic from over on the official StarCraft website. Oh yeah, and the game also supports newer operating systems, including Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10. So whether you’re rocking an old-school rig or you’re popping off wins and blasting down opponents at 4K and 60fps on a new-school machine, you should be able to play StarCraft without any problems on your machine.
