ARK Survival Guide: Here’s How To Tame The Griffin In Ragnarork Update

During E3 2017 publisher and developer of ARK: Survival Evolved, Studio Wildcard, released information about the game’s latest Ragnarok update. The update brings a list of new things that includes the Griffin, and in this guide we’ll teach you how to tame the newly added Griffin. ARK: Survival Evolved is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Before jumping into the new features, folks looking to find and tame the Griffin in the latest Ragnarok update that expands ARK: Survival Evolved, will hopefully find everything necessary in this guide.

Where to Find the New Griffin

Griffins can be found in groups of three, commonly in trees or at the top of cliffs. When searching for a Griffin much care should be taken given that a single knock-back off a high place or ravine can be certain death for some players. Overall, the class of Griffins in general are somewhat weak when attacking, but it should be noted that it does not take bonus damage from ranged weapons like other flying creatures.

Best Weapons and Kibble For Taming a Griffin

The best weapons for taming a Griffin are shotguns and pikes. The two named weapons can be used effectively when a Griffin starts to circle you. It’s best to also use mounts with a wide area of attacks and decent damage such as the Rex, who will make short work of a Griffin. When taming the beast make sure to bring a lot of Kibble (Allosaurus eggs) to make sure that the taming process goes smoothly.
