THQ Nordic just released a new trailer for Piranha Bytes’ Elex, an upcoming Sci-Fi, open-world action RPG title. The new game is set to debut across PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 17th.

As of now, I’m holding my tongue or reserving my judgment on this new game called Elex, because there isn’t all that much in-game footage that gamers have right now to really judge the game, other than the latest CGI trailer. And as gamers should know, a description can tell you one thing but the actual game itself can be something different at release.

Before jumping into the latest CGI trailer, the devs released some basic information regarding platform release, core features that the game is built around, and what gamers will receive upon purchasing the collector’s edition.

Firstly, if you have no idea as to what platform the science-fiction, open world action role-playing game will debut on, the game will be playable across PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Moreover, THQ Nordic dropped an overview detailing Elex and what gamers can expect from the upcoming action RPG title:

“Elex is a handcrafted action role-playing experience from the award-winning creators of the Gothic series, set in a brand new post-apocalyptic Science Fantasy universe that puts players into a huge seamless game world full of original characters, mutated creatures, deep moral choices and powerful action.

In Elex, you join the war over a powerful resource that gives people great magic-like powers, but turns them into indifferent cold creatures. You decide if emotions and humaneness or cold synthetic logic will rule the world of Magalan.”

Elex is said to sport a seamless open world experience without borders or loading zones, meaning that if you want to reach a high place by using your jet-pack, you’re supposedly to reach any part of the world without facing any boundaries or loading screen restrictions.

I’m not sure if this is just talk or the truth, but the game is noted to feature a “simulated game world” where everything reacts to the player actions and prompts for an “authentic atmosphere.” The simulated game experience is said to affect quests and how they play out, which are altered by player choices.

Furthermore, combat in Elex is said to be tactical and challenging in that there will be layers from close range to long range combat, meaning that spamming and camping will be minimized for a more engaging and challenging experience.

Lastly, gamers that are into collector’s editions and special versions of a game, Elex will include a figurine of an “Alb Mage”, an amulent in the form of a combat drone, a cloth map of the game’s world, the original soundtrack on CD, an art book, the game’s official manual, and a copy of the game itself. This now leads to the cinematic trailer that lies below.
