For those that want their very own flying ship known as the Vertibird in Fallout 4, you will have to join the Brotherhood of Steel to get one. Learning how to get a Vertibird might take some time, unless you’re already with the group, then you’re just a few steps away.

To get the Vertibird you will have to join the Brotherhood of Steel, you should get a radio broadcast that will start a mission called Fire Support. This will lead you to help assist the Brotherhood of Steel soldiers at the Cambridge Police Station. After helping them, they will ask you for assistance with another mission.

When participating in the next mission, it will bring you to ARCJET Systems. You will have to collect what they need from that specific location, which will allow you to officially join their ranks. After joining their ranks, you will need to go back to the police station where you will become an Initiate.

After that, you will need to do one more quest for each of the two scribes, which is available inside the police station. Once done, this will trigger another main mission with the Brotherhood of Steel that will have you searching for a missing patrol squad.

After completing that part, you will need to continue the main story until you get to the Reunions quest. After completing the Reunions quest, you should get another radio broadcast from the Brotherhood of Steel calling you to come back to the police station.

You will have to talk to the Brotherhood of Steel and then take the Vertibird to the Prydwen. Once you are done talking to a few people, you will gain a quest to wipe out some super mutants. This is where you will be rewarded with a Vertibird signal grenade. This signal grenade will allow you to call on the vetibird anytime, anywhere.
