Lightning Returns Cheat Trainer Freezes Game Timer
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

A cheat trainer for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII has been receiving some updates to make it easy to manipulate some elements in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, such as being able to remove or freeze the countdown timer.

A lot of gamers are probably annoyed with the idea that they have to deal with the 13 day timer in Lightning Returns. Well, on the Xbox 360 and PS3 there’s nothing you can do unless you have a modded console, but the Glorious PCMR can use mods and cheats and trainers galore.

Over on THPS-Mods user Eraser has a Lightning Returns trainer where you can use the F5, F6, F7, and F8 keys to activate things like infinite ATB, give 90 EP, stop the game timer and add 20,000 GIL to your inventory.

According to the cheat trainer you will need to spend EP and GIL after you activate the cheat to see the desired effect. And speaking of seeing desired effects – you can check out the YouTube video below that gives you a brief walkthrough of how to use the trainer, courtesy of YouTuber PCTrainers

Using the GIL cheat, he explains how you need to activate it first and then go to a shop or an inn keeper and spend some GIL on an item or resting or anything that requires the expenditure of GIL. After spending any amount of GIL after activating the cheat, it will automatically add 20,000 to your inventory. So it’s pretty useful for replenishing your funds if you’ve run low.

Keep in mind that if you want to use the trainer to stop the countdown timer, as indicated in the video above, you may miss out on some events or quests. The best thing to do is to freeze the timer only when you decide to lollygag around or partake in non-quest related adventuring. Some quests are attached to the timer so it’s best to disable it when going on quests or interacting with some NPCs to avoid locking yourself out of some events.

According to Eraser the trainer works with version 1.0 of Lightning Returns but it may not work with any of the updated versions of the game. So you may need to disable auto-updates or roll your copy of the game back to version 1.0.

You can download the Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII cheat trainer from Dropbox or Mega.
