Sun-Studios recently updated Armed With Wings: Rearmed to include a local multiplayer mode, where two players can battle head-to-head in a three-round bout.
This is an exciting update for a very worthwhile game that’s currently still in the Early Access process. The title originally landed on Early Access back in late May of 2015. It’s crazy to think that it’s already been a year.
Armed With Wings: Rearmed is easily one of the best side-scrolling action games I’ve ever played. The Early Access rendition is a bit short, but the the options to unlock new weapons and abilities, as well as unleash some beautifully animated combos and attacks makes it a highly replayable game. I actually preferred the combat in Armed With Wings: Rearmed over Dust: An Elysian Tail and Onikira: Demon Killer due to how smooth the fighting is and the amount of options afforded to players when it comes to attacks and stacking different combo types together.
Nevertheless, Sun-Studios made it known in a post over on Steam that the local multiplayer versus mode is currently live for the game in update 0.8.10, and that there is new music for the game and the ability to break ice spikes.
In addition to adding the multiplayer, the characters have been balanced, and a few gamepad bugs have been squashed.
The game plays quite well but is a bit sparse when it comes to content. Nevertheless, Sun-Studios is gunning for a mid-2016 release for the game, so hopefully it will be content-complete when it does finally release. It has a ton of potential so it’ll be exciting to see what the final product looks like.
