Blueprint Tycoon, Business Management Sim Launches On Steam

Endless Loop Studios recently launched Blueprint Tycoon on Steam. The game is a business management and product distribution simulator. It’s a small game with a small price that will likely appeal to gamers who love structural enterprise strategies and plotting out ways to make a lot of money from efficiency and cost-effective production.

The game is designed by Hugo Cardoso and was in Early Access for a short while before graduating and officially launching on the Steam store recently for only $2.99. For the first week of being on sale you can actually grab the game for 10% off the normal price for only $2.69.

You can check out the launch trailer for the game below, showcasing how business can be setup and distribution can be plotted through various vectors.

The object of the game is to run a settlement by gathering materials, crafting goods and supplying them to customers. The idea is to create blueprints for the crafters and harvesters to use in order to make cash and improve efficiency through the supply chain.

The fail state of the game is you get your blueprints built, manage to start shipping goods but then your business is unable to produce enough profit to keep up with operating costs and your workers go unpaid. You’ll have some unwanted civil unrest on your hands.

The object is to keep the workers happy, colonize as many islands as possible, setup secure trading routes, research new products and keep the supply chain moving like a well oiled machine. It’s like capitalism, the game… but without upper management skimming off the top, or the shareholders gutting the 401K plans to pocket the difference, or the CEO tanking the company, taking a bailout from the President and then laying everyone else off. I suppose that would be a more accurate description of Capitalism: The Game.

Anyway, Blueprint is a much smaller, more confined project with a scope limited to management and supply. The general consensus for the game is that it’s well designed, challenging and fun to play.
