Good news for everyone living in Europe: Deep Silver has picked up the publishing duties for SNK’s latest pugilist filled 3-on-3 romp in the King of Fighters franchise. Starting August 26th you’ll be able to pick up King of Fighters XIV from local retailers courtesy of Deep Silver.
GamersHell picked up the news that Deep Silver would be taking on the task of publishing duties for SNK’s PlayStation 4 exclusive. The news was accompanied by a trailer that gives gamers a nice overview of everything that SNK is jamming into this latest addition to the long running series. You can check it out below.
They cover the EX mode and the MAX mode, giving gamers a look at how they can string together special moves or combo supers using a cancel. The new combo feature is also highlighted, where newbies can just jam in the square button to put together a string of combos – I still don’t know how I feel about that feature, but will reserve judgment until I see it in action. And they cover some of the unlockable content (yes, SNK is taking it back old-school and focusing on the process of unlocking content by beating the game or certain modes) along with the new online team battle mode.
It’s also pretty cool that the game is filled to the brim with content. You get the story mode and interactions between the various characters as they battle their way to the top of the tournament bracket; there’s the mission mode where you can unlock new artwork and other goodies by playing through certain challenges; there’s the training mode where you can hone your skills and become an expert with certain characters; and then there’s the online mode, where you can battle it out against others or watch replays and get good.
Heck, there’s enough content in King of Fighers XIV where it takes longer for me to type it all out than it does for someone to beat Street Fighter V and play all of the game modes.
Anyway, you can look for the European version of King of Fighters XIV to launch on August 26th, exclusively for the PlayStation 4… courtesy of Deep Silver.
