Square Enix Releases Two Minutes Of Final Fantasy XV Chocobo Riding

In a new video that Square Enix released for Final Fantasy XV, it reveals even more Chocobo riding throughout the desert landscapes of the JRPG The latest video pertaining to the game comes in as a “thank you” to those who followed them on social media.

As of this writing, Square Enix has four months to go until they release Final Fantasy XV. For eager fans that can’t wait to play the game, I image that waiting that long can be torturing. To ease the pain some, the devs sent out a new video showing Noctis and the gang riding Chocobos out in the desert.

The power-sliding that was revealed in previous videos is once again showcased. We get to see the Chocobos glide down from high heights and descend back to the ground running, while showing off the graphical effects of the game’s lighting and time of day.

Looking over to the combat system, Chocobos will be able to battle other enemies as we see. Using its massive legs and feet to battle other enemies, it looks like players will be able to fight while mounted on or off of it.

The video below contains the aforesaid, and will probably stand as nothing new to those who watched the Chocobo and Fishing trailer last year back in September. If you want to see it, you can view it below courtesy of Square Enix.

Something that I’m most excited about is the airships. According to an interview awhile back with Famitsu, there will be air battles that will call for Noctis to warp to specific parts. I’m not sure how the airships will play out in this new version, but Hajime Tabata did note that he wanted full-scale ariships in this game…

“My personal goal is to implement airships that can fly around in full-scale.”

“I’m not certain whether we’ll be able to make it on time for the retail release, but I think we should do even if it means releasing it after as a download. I’d like to have the challenge of being able to fly around the world. I would like to experience that, and I’m sure the fans would also like to experience that, too.”

Final Fantasy XV will go live for PS4 and Xbox One this year. As of now, it has a release date slated for September 30th.
