Berserk still doesn’t have a correct title name yet and still shows that it’s under a “Working title,” but Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja managed to get some actual promotional gameplay footage out before the official title. Showing blood flying everywhere as dismembered foes cover the surrounding area in the trailer, Berserk is set to debut on September 23rd for PS Vita, PS3, PS4 and PC.
There’s no doubt that this game will be heavily censored in the west, including the box cover art. Furthermore, I’m just shocked that Berserk is actually getting a game, and no not the old Atari game named Berzerk, but the one based on the gruesome and explicit manga by Kentaro Miura.
Moreover, while the game is currently unscathed by SJWs, a new trailer has been published by Koei Tecmo showing the pure musou play of iron and guts (no pun intended). You can check out the video below showing Guts decimating foes with the blade that is “Massive, thick, heavy and far too rough.”
Something worth mentioning, other major characters are noted to be in the game, which they will posses and hold their own merits in battle. This means that it is likely that folks will be able to play as Griffith, Casca and others. It’s also noted that the characters from the animated movie will feature the same voice actors in the game.
We also learn from Koei Tecmo that…
“The game starts from the “Golden Age Arc” popular among original fans, up until the end of the “Millennium Falcon Arc” where the protagonist Guts, on his journey for revenge, acquires his invaluable comrades. You’ll be able to relive the grand world of Berserk. Additionally, intense scenes reproduced via the anime movie and 3D models are included, and interactions between the members of the Band of the Hawk not included in the movie are being incorporated. This extensive story is being developed using an immense volume of graphics.”
Berserk will be available for PS Vita, PS3 and PS4 for Japan on the 23rd, while the west date is unannounced. In addition, western folks won’t get a PS3 version but a PC version via Steam. Before signing out, here are some more screenshots that the devs released.
