E3 2016: Ghost Recon Wildlands’ Trailer Reveals March 7th Launch Date

During Ubisoft’s E3 conference, they released quite a bit of videos showing off one of Tom Clancy’s tactical shooters Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Sent in to shutdown the Santa Blanca Cartel, the game offers both tactical and brute force when dealing with any situation. Ghost Recon: Wildlands is set to come out March 7th, 2017.

That’s right, next year Ubisoft will be releasing Wildlands, which will hit PC, PS4 and Xbox One. To be honest, I really enjoyed playing the original Ghost Recon games back in the day where if you got hit once or twice it was game over. Adding on to the brutality, there were no health kits or reviving, so if you died you didn’t revert to any checkpoints, it was just the end.

The tactical response that Ghost Recon called for is still challenging to this day, and usually has one doing the stage over and over before they can beat the stage without saving or reloading a game. I’m not sure how brutal this version will be, but the game does look pretty fun. Something I do feel that should be pointed out is Ubisoft and Massive’s work on the Division, which has me very concerned about Wildlands.

I know that time will only tell how the full release will be, but I am hoping that this game will be legit and decent having come from the classic iterations of the Ghost Recon series. While we wait, you can view two trailers courtesy of Ubisoft‘s YouTube channel.

The two trailers above show clips mixed together showing the Ghost and the Santa Blanca Cartel battling over Bolivia. In an attempt to disrupt the cartel’s grip on the country, players will be able to utilize over 60 different vehicles that include land, sea and air. All missions, vehicles and weapons will allow for optional style and play, which I hope has enough depth to keep gamers thirsty for more.

Speaking of doing missions differently, a gameplay walkthrough with a team trying to capture a VIP shows how a stealthy mission can get explosive very quickly, if not careful.

I know that the video above was scripted and all, but I am looking forward to it since it looks like a decent non-futuristic Ghost Recon game, which leads back to waiting to see if the devs deliver this one correctly. Ghost Recon: Wildlands is set to come out March 7th, 2017, for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
