E3 2016: Yesterday Origins Will Feature Saucy Dialogue And Black Humor

In an age where developers are being pressured by culture critics and politicians to self-censor and become more politically correct, some developers are taking a completely opposite route… such as Pendulo Studios.

The developer is working with publisher Microids to unveil more details about their saucy tale of immortality and world adventures that spans multiple time periods and locations.

The start of the game puts players in the role of an immortal named John Yesterday. Players will bounce through time, surviving through the perils of the Spanish Inquisition, as well as working with another immortal named Pauline Petit in the present day.

A new teaser trailer was released ahead of the game’s appearance at the Microids booth at this year’s E3. The game will be demoed and on display at the trade show, where Pendulo and Microids are likely hoping to get some extra coverage leading up to the game’s release on September 29th. You can check out the trailer below.

As mentioned in the press release, they’re bringing back their signature style and themes that helped put Pendulo Studios on the map…

“While the game addresses adult topics and sprinkles in saucy dialog, it retains a relaxed feel and a good dose of black humor, something Pendulo Studios does all too well.”

Unlike a lot of other developers where they focus on male and female relationships that are antagonistic or steeped in friction, Pendulo Studios has made it a habit to focus on the lighter side of relationships. Their previous games, Runaway and The Next Big Thing, featured more lighthearted takes on romance and comedy, making them perfect titles to play for couples.

Unlike many of other Pendulo’s titles, this one will not be relegated to a PC-only release. Gamers who only game on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will also be able to get their hands on Yesterday Origins starting at the end of September.

If you’re attending E3 or know someone who is, you can look for Yesterday Origins to appear at the Microids booth at the Los Angeles convention center between June 14th and June 16th. For more information feel free to visit the official Steam page.
