Mass Effect: Andromeda Trailer Previews Asari, Krogans And Alien Planets

E3 2016 is already off to a strong start, and while Mass Effect: Andromeda is still a year off from release, they showed a heck of a lot more of the game than some people may have been expecting.

During the EA Play press conference, Electronic Arts and BioWare unveiled some brand new footage of Mass Effect: Andromeda. We see an Asari, a Krogan, some humans, some brand new aliens, the Mako and the new ship, the Tempest. You can check out the trailer below, courtesy of MKIceandFire.

Part of the promotion of Mass Effect: Andromeda is that it’s running on the Frostbite 3 game engine. It was a recurring theme throughout the EA Play event… constantly reminding gamers that the engine’s premiere lighting, physics and post-processing filters

The actual gameplay segments are kept rather thin. We see two sequences of the Mako driving over a dune and exiting from the Tempest, and little else from the all-terrain transport. We also get a very, very quick glimpse of the player-character doing battle with a rather large, alien behemoth. As the alien charges the player an explosion goes off, indicating that maybe it stepped on a mine of some sort.

The Relays make a brief appearance, but we’ll have to wait for more info to find out what role they’ll play in the game.

And then there’s a brief shot of a smiling Asari, with the clip fading out once a gun is pointed to her head, causing her smile to turn upside down.

Mass Efffect: Andromeda actually seemed to receive very little of the spotlight compared to Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2, but then again EA will have the rest of the year to focus on the space opera, where-as the latter two will be launching during the holiday season, so they have to fuel that hype train hard.

You can keep track of Mass Effect: Andromeda by heading to the game’s official website.
