Riders Of Icarus Trailer Previews A Few Of The Bosses

Nexon and WeMade Entertainment have released a new promotional trailer ahead of the open beta launch for Riders of Icarus on July 6th. The game is shaping up to launch in the West in a big way, and Nexon has already been selling the Founder’s Packs to help push the early monetary gains for the game well ahead of its actual opening.

The crazy part about it is that whoever is in charge of putting together the trailers for Riders of Icarus have been doing a fan-darn-tastic job of it. The voice-over work is spot on and the clips all make the game look thoroughly exciting. Don’t take my word for it, though, check it out for yourself in the trailer below.

Some of these bosses were available during the closed beta preview session that was open to the press. The beta arrived ahead of the game’s full release to allow some game journalists to do some early coverage of the title.

During my play session [Disclosure: I was provided a press account for the game] I was able to capture some creatures, tame some pets and kick some butt. The whole capture and training aspect of Riders of Icarus is definitely the game’s biggest selling point. It works and works really, really well.

You can essentially capture just about any creature roaming around, make it your own and then ride it. If you feel as if the creature is better served as a companion that fights by your side, you can get a pet scroll from grinding out quests to turn your captured mount into a captured pet. Pets cannot be ridden but they can grow with you and level up, battling by your side and earning skills and some accessories that make them formidable companions.

Riders of Icarus also sports raids, guilds, PvE and PvP sessions. There are also instanced areas for both groups and solo players.

My only major gripe with the game is the combat. It works well enough as a traditional tab-targeting MMO, but I was hoping for something closer to Vindictus or RaiderZ.

Nevertheless, you can sign-up right now and look to start playing the newest MMORPG from Nexon, for free, starting July 6th. You can register your username and prep for release by visiting the official website.
