Shadow Tactics: Blades Of The Shogun Dev Walkthrough Covers Stealth Advantages

Mimimi Productions did a short walkthrough of the gameplay for their upcoming tactical stealth game, Shadow tactics: Blades of the Shogun. The video covers two of the five playable characters in the game, highlighting how the environment and different weapons can be utilized to take out enemies.

Yuki and Hayato are the focal points of the video, which runs for close to five minutes. We get to see how the isometric view gives gamers an opportunity to strategize and take out enemies in dynamic fashion. You can check out the video below.

One of the really cool modes in the game is the shadow mode, where players can designate actions to their teammates, slowing things down and giving them an opportunity to unleash their attacks simultaneously.

It’s certainly a different kind of game because it takes the kind of tactical awareness and strategy required to play games like X-Com effectively, but it does so without turns – everything happens in real time.

The five different characters each add something different to the mix, and being able to mix and match their abilities to problem solve scenarios should prove to add some replayability to the game.

The only thing I worry about is how well a title like this will be received on the market? I personally enjoy seeing all sorts of games find their niche and hit a stride of success with their intended audience. I do worry about a period-piece, real-time strategy stealth game possibly flying a little too low on the radar to capture the kind of market it’s seeking. But hopefully it all works out well because I love the fact that Mimimi Productions is taking a real risk and trying something new with Shadow Tactics.

You can look for Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun to launch in the fourth quarter of 2016 for PC, Linux, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. You can check out the Steam page to learn more or visit the official website to stay tuned in for further updates.
