Sid Meier’s Civilization VI Offers Unstacking Cities And New Abilities

Those who enjoyed playing the popular simulator back in the 1990’s will most likely enjoy the newer iteration of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI with its new features. Set to debut this Fall for PC, some new content makes its way into the game that will allow players to precisely select and expand parts of their city unlike before.

With a heavy focus on the brand new feature called Unstacking — which adds more detail to placing buildings and constructing cities — we receive a new video describing some new abilities that are said to take on historical events to help players out on their simulated journey.

This means that deep building integration will allow your city to be constructed strategically and in an efficient way. With a video diving into this feature, better known as Unstacking Cities, we also get a video showing the 26th U.S. President, Theodor Roosevelt, who is used as an example to show off the new abilities.

The first ability is restricted to that country (or land) while the second ability reflects on that current event or time period. For an example, the video notes that the U.S. has the ability “Founding Father’s” that decreases the amount of time to earn government legacy bonuses. The second ability, which is Roosevelt’s, adds a combat bonus for units when fighting in their own territory.

Both abilities sound like they can be handy and used strategically to the user’s advantage greatly even in the most dire of times, because you never know if someone like “Rage Gandhi” might nuke you…

Anyways, the first video goes over the new “Unstacking Cities” mechanic, while the second video dives into countries and their leader’s abilities. You can check out the second video below courtesy of Sid Meier‘s YouTube channel.

No specific release date has been confirmed yet, but Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is noted to come out around fall, later this year for PC.
