Street Fighter 5 Set To Gain “A Shadow Falls” Story Mode On July 1st

That’s right, Capcom has released a new trailer showing off Street Fighter 5’s new story mode, which is set to come out on July 1st. Entitled “A Shadow Falls,” western PS4 fans can pre-load it now, which adds quite a bit of content to the base game. Street Fighter V is out now for PC and PS4.

The latest update that can be pre-loaded by western PS4 fans (as of this writing) stands as a cinematic quest or story mode for Street Fighter V that adds even more content to the table. This also brings matchmaking improvements, new costumes and more.

In addition to this, Balrog and Ibuki are now a part of the growing character roster, and stand as playable characters. Folks will also find some new locations like Las Vegas and Karin’s Kanzuki Family Private Beach stage, as well as three alternate stage options.

As for the actual story, which I’m sure most fans are excited about, it’s divided into five acts and is set between Street Fighter III and Street Fighter IV, standing as a bridge for the events that happen between those two games.

According to the official description, the story will depict the ultimate battle between the evil Shadaloo organization and the heroic World Warriors as noted below:

“As the story unfolds, players will enter battles using each of the core 16 characters, in addition to the 6 (released and unreleased) 2016 DLC characters, each with their own unique contribution to the epic clash. “A Shadow Falls” is free content available to all players and it marks the first time in franchise history that consumers will be able to play through this type of cinematic experience in a Street Fighter game.”

You can check out the new trailer below, which runs close to two minutes showing off newer entries in the game as well as older characters.

Everything new coming to the fighting game via the update can be gotten either through the in-game currency shop or with real money. Street Fighter V’s new story mode is set to come out on July 1st, and will be available for PC and PS4 players. For more information about the update you can head to
