Dead Rising 1 And 2 Confirmed For PS4, Xbox One Release

If you’re a fan of the Dead Rising series there’s some darn good news for you: Capcom is doing right by the community and re-releasing the original game on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. They’re also re-releasing the second game on the Xbox One and PS4.

Eurogamer managed to get word directly from Capcom who confirmed to them that both Dead Rising games will be arriving on the sometimes-full-HD consoles, stating…

“Capcom will be bringing Dead Rising to Xbox One, PS4 and PC. In addition, Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will make their way onto Xbox One and PS4. We will have more news to share soon.”

Capcom confirmed the news after reports had gone out earlier in the day relating to the trophies being listed over on Exophase for Dead Rising. This immediately led people to speculate that the game would be coming to the PlayStation 4.

Instead of letting the hype build without them (and on rumors), Capcom decided to step into the fray and straighten things out by explaining that both of the games would be set to arrive on the eighth-gen platforms.

This means that if you missed out on the original Dead Rising on the Xbox 360, you can now pick it up for PC, Xbox One or PS4 sometime soon.

The second game managed to make its way to the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, and Capcom also released some extended DLC for it so PS3 and PC gamers could get their fill of Frank West from the first game, since it wasn’t made available on those systems. Well, now both the first and second title will be available to PC and PlayStation gamers, along with Xbox One owners.

This is likely an attempt to raise the profile of the brand as they prep for the December 6th release of Dead Rising 4 for Windows 10 PCs and the Xbox One and Xbox One S this fall.
