Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Video Shows Hacking, Non-Lethal Gameplay

A 20 minute video was recently posted up on Gamespot featuring Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. It’s the first mission in the game, featuring some of the cinematics, some stealth gameplay, some exploration, a little bit of hacking and Adam Jensen naked in the shower.

Gamespot plays through the 20 minute session like pros. You might even be convinced that they’re real gamers. They seem to be able to navigate the environment rather well, using non-lethal takedowns (for the most part) and showcasing some of Adam’s new abilities, such as being able to gas enemies within a small radius, incapacitating them briefly. You can check out the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided video below.

The 20 minute video seems to go by a heck of a lot faster than I thought it would. It doesn’t take them long to rack up the time limit just exploring some of Prague, interacting with a few of the locals and examining the surrounding atmosphere.

Much like Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the game has mission hub areas where players will explore the sandbox, talk to various NPCs, grab side-missions or complete the main quest mission. The quest missions usually require players to enter into a certain area or talk specifically with an NPC to start the mission. In this case, Jensen has to travel to a book shop and enter, either stealthily or loudly. Most of the takedowns featured in the video above are stealth oriented, but in a couple of cases Jensen dispenses of his foes with lethal prejudice.

There’s a lot of small nuances and possibilities hinted at in the video above, including potential side-quests and exploration opportunities. For the most part it looks like Deus Ex: Human Revolution just stepped up to the next level with better graphics, more options and more gameplay features. In this case, more of the same is not a bad thing.

You can look for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to launch on August 23rd for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Need more info? Be sure to check out the official website.
