NieR: Automata, Developers Share Concept Art And Enemy Design In New Blog Post

Platinum Games took to their official blog to post up some new content regarding the very unique and interesting project NieR: Automata. The blog post covers concept art, enemy designs, and the animations that will go into next year’s action adventure.

NieR: Automata is a game that I’m really looking forward to, seeing how it contains fast combat in specious environments that look very unique, and hardcore bosses that look fun and ruthless. There’s a lot more that I find interesting about Automata, which some of it is detailed by Platinum Games’ designer Takahisa Taura.

Designer Taura recently took to the team’s blog site to announce some of the things they are doing so that the game will be ready to release sometime next year.

In addition to the above, Taura had wrote out the introductory of the post. You can read it below:

“PG game designer Takahisa Taura here. It was my pleasure to share some new information and footage from NieR: Automata at E3 2016! Today I’d like to go a step further and give you an up-close look into our development processes, and share some of the challenges that the team and I have faced on this project. We hope you enjoy this taste of what it’s like on our side of the screen.”

One of the many things Taura touched on is the animations. He wanted the animations to be fast and fluid, yet elegant enough to feel right while the player is hacking, jumping and running around. He also noted that a lot of the animations are cut and are tweaked so that they appear on time, but are polished so that they don’t look clunky or appear messy.

Furthermore, the blog post goes over testing rooms, and concept art for enemies. The testing room allows the devs to obviously simulate things in the room to see visual effects, sound ques and how all sorts of in-game effects play out with one another. The concept art shown on the post also reveals enemies, and future stages that players will be able to visit.
