No Man’s Sky Will Be Available On GOG.com At Launch

GOG.com sent out a brief sales notice letting gamers know that No Man’s Sky won’t just be available on Steam and the PS4 when it launches on August 9th in North America. The game will also be available on GOG.com as a DRM-free digital download.

The store page for No Man’s Sky is up and available right now, letting potential customers know that they can get their hands on the game in just two week’s time for $59.99.

GOG.com also has a pre-order bonus available, allowing people who pay early to get their hands on the Horizon Omega spaceship. It’s a single cockpit flyer with extended wings and a long narrow nose, not unlike the early iterations of the X-Wings from Star Wars.

If you’re curious about getting the DRM-free version of No Man’s Sky for PC, you will need at the very least an i3 Intel processor, 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 480. For the game to look as good as it does and for it to be as big as it is, those specs aren’t all that bad. Also, your operating system simply needs to be Windows 7, 8 or 10… but each of them must be 64-bit.

And speaking of big… the game’s size clocks in at 10GB, which is like 1GB smaller than Saints Row IV. It’s a heck of a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Then again, it doesn’t have a lot of the talking and wasted space like some of the other AAA games out there, so all 10GB is actually going into procedural game mechanics and features as opposed to a lot of NPC talking and cut-scenes.

You can look for No Man’s Sky to drop on August 9th in North America, August 10th in Europe and August 12th in the U.K., and the rest of the world.
