Cybernate and Surprise Attack Games’ Super Mutant Alien Assault has officially launched for home consoles and PC. The game takes players on a dangerous dance of death against mutant aliens, using a string of deliciously devilish weapons across a delightfully destructive campaign.
A press release went out recently informing gamers that the side-scrolling, super-hardcore action title featuring a single-player mode as well as local co-op, is currently available for purchase from the PlayStation Store for the PS4, the Xbox Store for the Xbox One, and from Steam for PC.
The press release states…
“Taking inspiration from unforgiving arcade classics and Vlambeer’s Super Crate Box, Super Mutant Alien Assault is a dance with death across randomised single-screen levels where dodging is as just important as shooting if you hope to survive. “
I’ve got to be honest, I’m not familiar with any of Vlambeer’s work, so I can’t speak to the quality (or lack thereof) of their products, but I do have eyes and I do have ears, and they were thumping like a teenager’s heart after sneaking into Studio 54 during a Saturday night special. The action is slick, the combat is decisive and the weapons are sexier than a four season stack of Victoria’s Secret.
But don’t take my word for it, you can see Super Mutant Alien Assault in action below with the gameplay trailer.
There is a smorgasbord of violence at the disposal of players looking to get creative with their more rambunctious tendencies. We see boomerang-style blades, recoil explosives and a pogo-stick used to rain down death from above.
Chainguns, sniper rifles, laser weapons and lightsabers… this is the kind of arsenal that makes mothers weep and fathers grin. Heck, there’s enough devastation in the trailer to make Jason Voorhees and Freddy Kreuger feel inadequate, and there are enough explosions to make Stallone and Schwarzenegger blush.
The game has a collection of single-screen levels that randomized each and every time around, so there’s always going to be something new to play and experience when you boot up Super Mutant Alien Assault.
It’s a lo-fi game that won’t tax your PC, has tons of unlockable content and plenty of chaotic antics for up to two players to explore, whether that’s on PC or home console. The game is discounted right now on Steam by 20% off the normal price, so you only have to pay $7.99 instead of the normal $9.99. You can either grab a copy for the PS4 or Xbox One, or pick up a copy from the Steam store if you so desire. Alternatively feel free to learn more by visiting the official website.
