EVO brought out all the top names during the event, with various developers taking to the custom stage to talk up their games. Katsuhiro Harada unveiled two new additions to the character roster for Tekken 7: Fated Retribution.
The two characters were unveiled with trailers, each one highlighting their moves and abilities. Of course, anyone who is familiar with Tekken knows that Bob isn’t a new character at all, but this will be his first time stepping into the ring in Tekken 7 after the game was unveiled a couple of years ago.
But the more surprising character is Master Raven, who seems to have some sort of relation to Raven. She’s decked out some high-tech gear and has some hard-hitting moves. Her design looks like a cross between Sarah Kerrigan, Nina and Raven. You can check out the trailer below.
The only thing Bandai Namco teased about Master Raven was that she has something to do with Raven’s mysterious past…
“The original Raven made his debut in TEKKEN 5 with origins that are still murky today. Now Master Raven enters the fight in TEKKEN 7, executing her ninjutsu fighting skills with exceptional power and precision. Master Raven has no problem tearing her opponents apart in The King of Iron Fist Tournament.”
She’s definitely a much cooler looking character than Jacqui Briggs from Mortal Kombat X, who seemed to be a kind of lazy incarnation of Jax. Hopefully Namco does right by Master Raven and gives her a worthwhile story in the game’s new cinematic story mode.
But enough about Master Raven… it’s time to talk about Bob. Technically, it’s time to show you Bob. Here’s how he looks running in the Unreal Engine 4.
Look at those next-gen obese jiggle physics. Now that’s technology being used to its fullest. Fans of the heavyset fighter will definitely appreciate the reappearance of Bob.
And, for the first time ever, PC gamers will be able to get in on the action when Tekken 7 launches for PC along with the Xbox One and PS4 in early 2017.
