The Technomancer Gameplay Walkthrough

Focus Home Interactive and Spiders Studio’s The Technomancer has launched for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. For gamers looking to get in on the action and find a few hints and tips on getting through the game, there’s a gameplay walkthrough guide available for The Technomancer, covering the game from start to finish, including the final boss battle.

YouTuber SullyGamingHD rounded up 31 videos covering the game from start to finish. You can check out the complete gameplay walkthrough below. On average, you’ll get around 15 through 20 hours of gameplay out of The Technomancer.

After customizing your character and choosing one of three fighting styles, it’s possible to start exploring and taking on missions. At the start of the game there’s an upgrade station so players can mess around with some of the weapons before heading out, designed mostly to give gamers a small taste of what’s to come.

From there you’ll be able to test out various fighting styles in the Technomancer training facility before proceeding with the rest of the mission.

Just as a heads-up, the staff fighting has the best animations and the coolest looking combos. If you’re into that sort of thing, you’ll be impressed with the staff fighting.

If you prefer more sword and board defensive abilities, you can use the sword and shield style.

For Technomancer skills, you can assign them to the Left Trigger + (face button), as showcased in the image below.

The Technomancer - Skills

You can assign the different skills to L2 and the face buttons for easy access. As you unlock and earn new abilities, you can continue to assign them to the various buttons to create custom skill combos.

You can also sheathe your weapons using the R1 (or Right Bumper) and the ‘X’ (or ‘A’) button.

The knife and gun technique is known as the “Rogue” style of fighting. It has some cool looking techniques that focus more on quick stabs and slash techniques. It’s good for people who want to be more stealthy and discreet when engaging enemies.

As a word of warning, when fighting multiple opponents, the staff is the best bet in the early goings of the game. The knife and gun is definitely better suited for scenarios where you aren’t spotted, but it gets a lot more powerful further into the game.

The game is a mix of Mass Effect, Dark Souls and Two Worlds. However, there are no long-range guns in this game, so you’ll have to focus mostly on short-range pistols and lots of melee combat.

The first major boss is a giant mutated mantis. It’s not difficult to fight if you just stay behind it and chip away at its health by attacking it from behind, as showcased near the end of the video below.

The final level in the game takes place in the complex, multi-layered Ice Dome structure. You’ll face off against both humans and mutants alike.

Viktor Watcher is the one of the sub-bosses of the game, but he isn’t terribly difficult to defeat. He uses a rogue’s style to fight, so watch out for his gun when he shoots you to keep you at a distance. A few well-timed hits and you can take out Viktor with ease.

The more challenging fight will be with the giant Leviathan. You’ll find the creature further into the Ice Doom. It’s a disturbingly large creature that seems to spend a good deal of time lounging on the floor.

You will need to watch out for its acidic breath that it shoots out. It’ll also attempt to smash you by throwing its tail (or tentacle) across the platform. Simply strike the tentacle after rolling out of the way to chip away at its health. You can see how to rinse and repeat the classic boss-battle pattern in the video below.

The Leviathan boss battle will take you a good 10 through 15 minutes to beat. As mentioned, it’s a classic boss fight where you’ll need to grind it out with a mix of skill, patience, reflexes and timing. Once you get the pattern down for the Leviathan it’s not terribly difficult to defeat.

The Technomancer is available right now for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. You can grab a copy o fthe game from digital distributors or from a retailer near you, courtesy of Focus Home Interactive. For more information on the game be sure to visit the official website.
