Microsoft recently announced over on the official Xbox website that the Xbox One S will come in a specially marked Gears of War 4 edition. This will come with the game, and a custom red livery controller.
The site details that the Xbox One S is a 2 terabyte unit with a downloadable copy of Gears of War 4 on the hard drive, which is also compatible with being played on Windows 10. There’s even a code to allow for special access to Gears of War 4 ahead of everyone else on October 7th. They don’t say if this is for multiplayer or if it’s for the single-player… the likelihood is that it’s for the single-player.
There’s also a bundled in season pass, and the Crimson Omen limited edition controller, with textured grips and Bluetooth connectivity so you can easily use it on the Xbox One S or your Windows 10 PC.
But it doesn’t end there!
They’re also bundling in especially edition DLC, specifically the Vintage Oscar Elite Gear Pack, which contains a Vintage Retro Lancer, Vintage Boomshot and Vintage Oscar. They also decided to throw in six additional gear packs, which is kind of crazy.
The entire custom Xbox One S Gears of War 4 bundle will be available for $449.99.
That’s actually not a bad price for everything you get. The Xbox One S is supposed to be 40% smaller than the normal Betamax-style Xbox One, and it also features 4K Blu-ray ultra HD playback and high dynamic range for games and movies. And no, you won’t be able to play games in native 4K resolution.
If you like the controller but don’t want the console or the game, you can actually look to purchase the JD Fenix custom controller or the Crimson Omen controller starting September 13th for $74.99 each.
Nothing Microsoft has showcased of Gears of War 4 has enticed me personally, but the 2TB custom Xbox One S does look pretty cool. You can look for Gears of War 4 to launch for the Xbox One, Xbox One S and Windows 10 PCs starting October 11th.
