Gambitious Digital Entertainment recently published NoClip’s Zombie Night Terror. It’s a strategy survival game that puts players in the role of the zombies. The objective is to infect and kill as many humans as possible. There are certain strategies and tools at the disposal of gamers who want to become master puppeteers of the undead, and you’re in luck because there are some gameplay guides to help offer you some tips and tricks on how to get through some of the levels.
YouTuber Yippee Ki Yay Mr Falcon has a walkthrough series based on NoClip’s Zombie Night Terror, explaining to gamers some of the rules and how to play, as well as what to look out for when attempting to infect everyone in a stage. You can check out the first video below.
For the very first level, Mr Falcon explains that he infects the guy to the very far left of the screen because it forces all the humans to run to the very far right of the screen, easily pinning them into a corner.
You infect people using the Romero drug. For the first stage you get three drug shots and the object is to infect all the people in the stage. Different stages have limited amounts of the drug, so you’ll have to distribute it strategically so you get the most effective use out of it.
There are a few rules in how you can manipulate the zombies and the rules in which the zombies can traverse a stage.
So there are some movement buttons located throughout levels that indicate where you can direct the zombies. In the image below you can see that the red circles indicate the direction where your zombies will head when moving through the levels.
You can click on these icons to change the direction where the zombies head. In some cases it’s to get them to travel up steps while in other cases it’s to travel on a horizontal plane.
In the image below you can see a small icon underneath the door, this means that zombies can break through this particular door. It’s not reinforced. Some doors zombies will not be able to break through, such as the barricaded doors.
There’s the option to pause and speed up the game in order to plan out strategies.
Specialty humans like the ones with the guns and melee weapons can wipe out your zombie horde if they aren’t put into check, so it will require a bit of strategy to take them out, specifically ambushes.
Stage hazards will also give you some trouble, but you can avoid some of them by utilizing the Overlord skill, which enables you to direct the zombie hordes left and right. You’ll just need to make sure you have the skill and enough DNA in the meter to turn a zombie into an Overlord.
One thing you must keep in mind is that when you create an Overlord he’ll force the other zombies into a specific direction, but he can’t be moved. In order to move the Overlord out of the way, you’ll need to use the green flaming icon, known as a Sacrifice, to recoup some DNA and kill the Overlord. This will allow you to move beyond an area where you may have stationed an Overlord to force your zombie horde into a specific direction.
The trick is balancing out your horde by sacrificing some zombies to make Overlords, while also moving them into position to take out gun-wielding survivors and melee combatants. Zombie Night Terror is definitely a game that will appeal to those who enjoy micromanagement and real-time strategy titles. If you need to learn more you can check out the Steam store page.
