Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Trailer Puts 5-Player Co-op Front And Center

Bandai Namco released a new trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 during this year’s GamesCom in Cologne, Germany. The trailer focuses and highlights on the online co-op modes that sits front and center at the core of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

Saiyan Island managed to catch wind of the trailer and throw up a quick article pinpointing some of the highlights of the trailer, which you can check out below courtesy of Anime Games Online.

The trailer highlights some of the new features and cooperative tactics that players can utilize during a battle. For instance, in one scene we see that one player grabs onto the tail of one of the transformed Saiyans while the others pepper and assault him from a distance.

In one section one of the Nameks happens to use their own super transformation, turning into a giant who proceeds to lay some thick punches into the giant ape.

The trailer’s 6-vs-1 theme proves that players will have to work hard and work together to overcome the challenges. The trailer teases a mirror match, some awesome projectile moves and plenty of new features, such as the new ability for created characters to turn into super iterations, such as Super Saiyans or mega Maijins.

I’m really hoping that the combat in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is improved over what it was in the first game. It wasn’t bad, but essentially you only really had two basic combat buttons and the counter-moves and blocking was kind of clunky to pull off. A lot of it relied on alternating between special attacks and quick-hitting opponents with the L2 + Y combo until your Ki was high enough to rinse and repeat a good projectile attack.

Anyway, you can look for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 to launch for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC starting at the end of October on the 28th. For more info feel free to visit the game’s official website.
