Lost Castle Beginner’s Guide To Learning The Basics

Lost Castle is a game published by Another Indie and X.D. Network, and developed by Hunter Studio. In this guide, folks will learn the basics regarding the Rogue-like, randomly generated game and what classes are in the game as well as weapons. Lost Castle is out now for PC.

Jumping right into the guide — and if you need a comprehensive and in-depth guide that covers every aspect of the game, there’s a more in-depth guide by Zarentron3 up over on Steam — folks will learn the basics of classes, weapons, and how the dungeon operates. Below is the official description for Lost Castle:

Lost Castle is a super cute, super hard action RPG with roguelike elements and randomized dungeons. Brimming with a host of hand drawn, humorous characters and environments that embrace retro action with modern twists.”

Starting Off

You will start as a random class with random weapons once you are in the game. You can pick up some weapons at the start in the  Prison, as well as some other items that can change your class depending on what you equip.

Weapons

This now leads us to all the weapons in the game. For starters, there are bows, dual blades, muskets, spears, staffs, and two-handed swords. Each of the weapons in the game has different variations that reflect stats for better or for worse.

Items

Looking over to the items in-game we see that there are normal objects that can be broken, and then treasure chests that sit around and about the castle’s rooms. Both objects and treasure chests hold useful items.

In addition to loot and rooms, there are often hard to find side rooms that hold some good stuff. Although the game only allows for straightforward progression, you can find out which rooms are which when using the skill “The Sixth Sense”.

Finally, in the item section, we have the grotesque non-conversing “indescribable Creatures”. These things are silent and function like a lottery machine. They can payout various rewards depending on the symbol displayed in their eyes. Also, the location depends on how many coins you will need to spend to get an item from the indescribable Creatures.

For a better look at the game, you can watch a video below by Flik’s Gaming Stuff. Not only does he go over some of the controls but he also provides some handy information about Lost Castle.

Lastly, I suggest that you look over Zarentron3’s guide named (Mostly) Comprehensive Lost Castle Guide over on the Steam Community page, which has a sidebar of content to jump to whatever it is that has you puzzled.

Lost Castle is out now for PC via Steam, and currently runs for $9.99 but now has a special that ends on September 7th, bringing the price down by 21% to $7.89.
