Shiness Behind-The-Scenes Feature Explores Art-Style And Gameplay

Focus Home Interactive and indie studio Enigami released a new promotional trailer for the upcoming RPG, Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom. The video is a quick two minute look at the behind-the-scenes work put into the Kickstarted project that’s now set to arrive on the PS4, Xbox One and PC this December.

Blues spotted the new trailer that went up over on the Focus Home Interactive YouTube channel, featuring a look at how the game is continuing to make progress through the development phase. You can check out the video below.

You’ll need to turn on the closed captioning if you want to understand what the Frenchmen are saying. They go over how the game was borne from the manga of a young artist and after two decades it eventually turned into a game.

The video covers how they used the Kickstarter to gauge interest from the community, how the music was put together for the game, as well as how the fighting system is a mix of action-oriented combat mixed with magic and dodging abilities. There’s also a really strong focus on platforming as well.

I was actually kind of shocked at much platforming is present in the game. It reminds me of one of those passion projects from back in the PSX and PS2 era – back when games were made to be fantastical and fun and not to meet a tokenism quota or fulfill a psyche experiment by academics.

I’m really looking forward to Shiness and Enigami seems to have put a lot of work into the game to bring the world to life in a vibrant and colorful way. You can learn more about the game by visiting the Steam store page or by picking up a copy of the game for the PS4, Xbox One or PC this December. The game will be available for $29.99.
